Where do we even begin? Most of our guests are in town for Disneyland® or the Anaheim Convention Center and rightly so, with one being a top 3 theme park in the entire world and the other a top 100 convention center globally. But did you know that the Honda Center - within a 15 minute drive from the Alamo Inn and Suites straight down Katella Avenue - is a juggernaut in its own class? Ranked within the top 100 largest indoor areas in the world, the Honda Center hosts a wider selection of entertainment events than one might expect.
Locals fondly know the Honda Center as "The Pond," home of the Anaheim Ducks during hockey season. Since the founding of the team – originally The Mighty Ducks – in 1993, the Ducks have waded through various campaigns, experiencing immense success and capturing the Stanley Cup in 2007, then bottoming out in more recent years before enjoying a breakout 2025-2026 season. With Leo Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier, and Jackson LaCombe leading a young core this year, fans are anticipating another playoff run for the 2026-2027 NHL season. If you're in Anaheim, snag some tickets to a game this year and you will understand what it means to be "on the edge of your seat" as the players carve up the ice and skillfully smash pucks for the win.
When the Ducks rest or play away, the show goes on at the Honda Center. So far in 2026, Grammy nominees or award winners taking the stage have included the likes of Ghost, Thomas Rhett, Godsmack, Stone Temple Pilots, and "Weird Al" Yankovic. USA Olympians mesmerized the audience with an ice-skating tour de force during the Stars on Ice Tour earlier this May, and the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus pushed the boundaries of physics and imaginations in July. In just a few months, family favorite Disney On Ice® will return to the Honda Center from December 11 to December 14 – as always, a perfect way to celebrate the holiday season with loved ones.
If you've driven through the Anaheim Resort District recently, you'll notice that the area surrounding the Honda Center has been undergoing massive construction, and this is all building up to the development of OCVIBE, a design-forward campus incorporating shopping, dining, sports and more to rival any entertainment destination. If you like capturing history, snap some pictures now as the entire neighborhood will be transforming before our eyes, welcoming more visitors than ever. Even now, the Honda Center is already slated to host indoor volleyball for the 2028 Olympic Games. Talk about being at the center of all the action!
